What’s the Difference?

Short-Term courses are designed for people who want to develop new career-related skills or explore personal interests. Certain classes can be taken in sequence to build a career path. Classes are offered on weekdays, evenings, and Saturdays to allow individuals to continue learning while managing a busy lifestyle.

Full-Time courses are designed for high school and adult students who want to develop career and technical skills. Students attend classes during the day similar to the schedule of a high school or college. Many career programs at PTC are open entry/open exit, which means students can begin any time as long as there is an opening in the class. Long term adult students may choose to attend classes full-time for six hours daily Monday through Friday or part-time for three hours in the morning or afternoon. High school students who are 16 years of age or in their junior or senior year may attend classes for three hours in the morning or afternoon and some classes offer shorter hours.
